Morning Inspiration 1970-75                                                 

  1. The Meters – Cissy Strut

Cissy Strut – is part of the funk genre, this song feels as if you were waking up to a clear summer day down by the lake, taking a moment to open your mind and reflect on all the possibilities life has to offer.

Get Up – is part of the funk genre, this song fills you with energy and makes you want to move, It’s the type of song that one should start their morning off with everyday.

What’s Going On – is part of the protest R&B genre, I chose this one for because of the feeling of awareness that it convey, this picture is taking in way that makes you feel as if you’re looking out at what going on around you.

I’ll Be There – is part of the soul genre, the feel of this song has a bright reassuring feeling to it, as in this picture when them you the feeling as though everything will be alright, a peacefulness about it.

Take Me To The River – is in the soul genre, this is one of those song that has the feel of family being in the park cooking out, people swimming and having fun.

Afternoon 1975-79

  2. Bee Gees – Stayin’ Alive
  3. Taste Of Honey – Boogie Oogie Oogie
  4. Blondie – One way Or Another
  5. Chic – Good Time

Hotel California – Is in the arena genre, this song has this feeling of getting away escaping from reality; I paired this song with this pic to convey the artist’s interpretation of reality in his painting.

Stayin’ Alive – is from the disco genre, this song has a lively feeling when hear it you can feel your body wanting to move, this painting has a lively feeling to it as well, it keep’s your eye moving, back and forth over it looking at all of the detail work in it.

Boogie Oogie Oogie – also part of the disco genre, the feel of this remind me of colorful lights flashing, the colorfulness of this song fits very well with the colorfulness of this piece, it self-expression.

One way Or Another – this is part of the Punk genre; this song has a feel of being defiant, this painting has this same feel, the boldness the artist display in his work makes this a good fit.

Good Times – is from the disco genre, this song feels like it says good times, in picture conveys that to me, it seems like the figures are having a good time.

Late Afternoon 1980s

Rapture – Is part of the 1980s Rap genre, the feel of this song has this dreariness to it; this is the type of feel I receive from this pic.

Rappers Delight – is part of the Rap genre, this was the type of song that made you stop in your tracks, it was something new and catchy, I paired it with this picture cause it has this feel of the Bronx in the early 80s.

What’s Love Got To Do With It – is part of the 1980s R&B genre, this song has a feeling of hurt and sadness, I chose to use this one for this picture, cause of the day being wet and grey.

Money Too Tight (To Mention) – is part of the UK’s Sophisti-Pop, this song has a feel of being under pressure, I use this song for this picture to convey a gloomy setting of this shot.

Shout – is part of the Synthpop, this make me feel as if your back is up against the wall and your looking for an escape, the way I’m choosing to convey this picture is, looking over the city looking for a way out.

Dinner 1990s

I Don’t Want To Wait – is part of the Pop Rock genre, the feel of this song is like a little atmosphere back ground type of setting, this is why I chose it for this dinner setting, something intimate.

Because The Night – considered Alternative Rock, it makes it feel as if the night is full of possibilities, used to set the mood of the night coupled with fine dinning. 

Sexually Healing – is part of the Soul/R&B genre, this is part of the mood being set for evening, and this goes along well with the dimly lite dinner setting where romance is being conveyed in this picture. 

This Women Work – is part of the Soul/R&B genre, this is when, it’s all left on the table, the music speaks for itself, it’s saying there still time for us, I know I messed up.

Ready or Not – Is part of the 1990s Rap/Hip-Hop genre, the feel of this song is laid back chill type of vibe, I think it fits great with this type of dinner setting, as part of the background ambience.

Night Party Electronic Music

I Feel Love – is part of the Electronic genre disco ere, the feel of this song is to get the up and dancing, going along with the out door venue convey in this picture. 

Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) – is part of the Pop genre, this song helps to push the feel of the electronic sound, the out venue stage the stage for this song to shine through.

Trans Europe Express – is part of the Synthpop genre, I feel this song helped to give electronic music it big push, in America, people fills the venues with excitement and enjoy the night.

Don’t you Want Me – is part of Synthpop genre, this feel of people jumping up and down dancing enjoy the entertainment of the night. 

Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance) – is part of the Electronic genre, the feel of this song is a fast pace get up and dance song, this is a great open air setting for it.
